  • inDrive ride-hailing service in Kazakhstan
Every ride carries more than a passenger. It carries someone’s plans, responsibilities, ambitions and dreams. In Kazakhstan, many drivers and passengers — including those travelling in the back seat — often do not see fastening a seatbelt as necessary, or believe that an accident is unlikely to happen to them. Road-safety communication usually responds to this with rules, statistics or fear. Buckle Up Your Dreams chose a more personal approach: showing that a seatbelt protects not only a body, but the future a person is moving towards.

Problem

inDrive needed to encourage drivers and passengers to reconsider a familiar but often ignored safety behaviour: fastening a seatbelt. The task was to make this everyday action feel emotionally relevant and socially important, especially for those who underestimate the risk or see seatbelts as unnecessary in certain seats or situations. Instead of creating another warning message, the campaign needed to make people ask themselves a more personal question: What dream am I protecting when I buckle up?

Solution

The campaign told three human stories, each centred on a different character and dream: a person working towards a better life for their family, a student preparing for a new chapter, and a woman hoping to open her own bakery. Each film begins inside a “museum of dreams” — a symbolic space filled with objects connected to the character’s hopes and ambitions. Then the dream world suddenly collapses, showing how one unexpected moment can break not only a journey, but everything behind it. The films then return to hope: the characters fasten their seatbelts and the campaign closes with a simple message: Buckle up. Buckle up your dreams. Across video, TV, cinema, product marketing, PR, influencer content and collaborations, the campaign used relatable human stories to make seatbelt safety feel personal, emotional and urgent.

Results

Buckle Up Your Dreams reached 15M+ YouTube views across Kazakh and Russian versions in the first weeks of launch, bringing a road-safety message to a large audience through relatable human stories. The three Kazakh-language films reached 5.2M, 5.5M and 3.7M views, while the Russian-language versions added 1.2M+ views in total. Beyond YouTube, the films reached 7.4M people through TV and cinema placements during the first five weeks of the campaign. The social importance of the road-safety message also helped the campaign earn free placement on four national TV channels, with confirmation from the Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan. PR and social content around the campaign generated 585K views and nearly 219K engagements, including 217K likes, 1.2K shares/forwards, 380 saves, 230 comments and 100+ reposts. Note: The campaign is still ongoing, with final business, PR and audience-response data still being consolidated.
