A Creative Approach in a Conservative Niche

  • Limb prosthetics — consultation, selection and manufacturing of prosthetics, usage training, service and support.
Tekhnologii Zhizni (Life Technologies) is a limb prosthetics centre operating in a category where the choice is driven by trust, reputation and recommendations. Demand for prosthetics grows by roughly 10–15% per year (data from the Russian Ministry of Labour), but the market has a high cost of error and is strongly influenced by word of mouth. There are around 350 companies in the industry, and trust among the large players is built over many years, so a new centre often loses the decision even before the first contact. The centre is almost 5 years old — modest against players with more than 10 years of history. At the outset the centre had a weak online presence: its website received fewer than 1,000 visits per month, the brand was barely found through search and was not perceived as an obvious option. The audience often arrives in a state of stress and needs clear steps, a human tone and proof: reviews, real stories and expert answers from specialists.

Problem

The main barrier was distrust towards a relatively little-known centre in a category where a mistake is perceived as a risk to quality of life. At the moment of choice, those who are "known" and recommended win. In practice this barrier showed up as low brand visibility online and offline, so trust had to be built quickly through public proof. The situation was complicated by the absence of retrospective analytics: there was no data in the CRM, and the statistics needed for managed PR communications had to be built from scratch and by hand — linking sources, lead quality and outcome. Goal: strengthen the centre's reputation and trust so that it becomes a clear and reliable option instead of a little-known one. Objectives: build a unified brand image and tone of voice; give the audience "proof of trust" (patient video testimonials, expert explanations from specialists, clear stages of prosthetics); raise awareness and increase inbound enquiries through channels where reputation is checked; establish quality control over the handling of enquiries.

Solution

Insight: in prosthetics people choose not only a quality prosthesis but also a sense of safety — the confidence that the specialist will hear their request and support them. This matters more than slogans. Idea: introduce the brand and build PR communication around "we are here and we will explain", where every public contact answers an anxiety: what to do next, whom to trust, what life will be like afterwards. Strategy: reputational reinforcement through systemic points of trust — a unified communication package (website, maps, social media), open formats with patients and specialists (image, informational and expert video content), and channels where the audience actually checks reputation. The creative was built on "living proof" instead of promises, with a stylish concept of freedom of movement with a prosthesis and a demonstration of empathy and specialist competence. Execution: the website was rebuilt with SEO and audience pain points in mind, adding service information and prosthetics stages. Yandex contextual advertising captured "hot" demand; Yandex Maps served as an additional point of trust (profile, photos, reviews, directions). Social media — VK, TG, OK, Instagram — built loyalty and explained the patient journey; targeted ads delivered reach and brought people into the community. Performance control was built manually: exporting enquiries with UTM tags, matching numbers in the CRM, listening to call recordings and qualifying leads while adjusting the funnel and ad settings.
