“Sitorai Mohi Xosa” translates from Tajik as “a rare star beside the moon” and is the name of a palace complex in Bukhara. This natural mineral water originates from Bukhara, drawn from a source 1,150 metres deep and containing 38 minerals. It is positioned for formal table settings—business negotiations, official receptions, and wedding banquets—rather than as an everyday product on a refrigerator shelf.

Problem

The task was to transform the name Sitorai Mohi Xosa and the palace’s architectural heritage into a cohesive visual system, rather than merely using ornament as decoration. The product’s gift-worthy character was not a side effect, but a direct requirement of the brief: it had to be something one would be proud to place before guests or present to a business partner.

Solution

We selected a specific architectural module—the eight-pointed “yulduz” star, a key element of the palace’s Islamic tilework—and carried it across three applications: the logo, combining a crescent arc with an X-shaped star; the bottle cap; and the form of the glass vessels designed for the dastarkhan. The turquoise colour was taken directly from the majolica of the palace tiles. The medallion on the label features the outline of the historic building and the year associated with the water source. A limited set of four glass vessels, forming a star when viewed from above, became the brand’s signature composition for photography and presentation materials.

Results

The bottle’s faceted glass acts as a prism: the turquoise colour flares and shimmers in the light, echoing the play of reflections across the palace tiles from which it was drawn. Viewed from above, the four vessels in the limited series form the eight-pointed “yulduz” star. The shape is revealed from only one angle—it is meant to be discovered rather than simply seen. The label features a medallion bearing the outline of the historic building and the year of the source, designed as an authentic seal rather than a decorative stamp. The three formats in the range—250 / 750 ml—and the object series are unified by a single geometry and colour palette.
