Traditions are often associated with the past: ancient, meaningful, and something you’d find in a museum. But in reality, traditions aren’t objects to be preserved behind glass. They live in people — in the stories they tell, the rituals they repeat, and the meals they share.

Problem

At Food on Yandex Go, we wanted to show that traditions are not just something we inherit. They are something we create together and pass on to the next generation.

Solution

We created At One Table, a special project turning people’s personal stories about family traditions into something they could actually pass on. We chose traditional Shakhrisabz ceramics as the visual language of the project and created an AI-powered tool that transformed each person’s story about their family tradition into a unique ceramic ornament. More than 2,800 unique patterns were generated on our landing page https://zastolom.uz during the project — each one based on a real family story. To turn these digital stories into something tangible, we collaborated with Rustam Muzafarov, a seventh-generation Uzbek ceramist. Together, we created a collection of three bowls representing the past, present and future — three generations brought together at one table. The bowl representing the future was designed by Rustam together with AI, bringing centuries-old craftsmanship and new technology into one object. People who shared their family traditions could enter to win a collection of these unique bowls — turning their own story into a part of a new tradition. To bring the project from the screen into the real world, we installed a giant ceramic bowl on Taras Shevchenko Street, where it was seen by 33,000 visitors in just a few days. Together with Rustam Muzafarov, we also hosted a hands-on bowl-painting workshop at Gozar art space, giving people a chance not just to learn about the tradition, but to take part in creating it themselves. The project received coverage from national TV and leading Uzbek media, including UZ News, Spot, Afisha, Bugungi Gap and UZB MDK, as well as extensive social media and influencer coverage.

Results

The project generated 31M+ Views and delivered measurable impact for Food on Yandex Go in the local market: +19% MAU +6% Orders +8 pts NPS But the biggest result was not just the number of patterns created or people reached. We showed that a tradition doesn’t have to stay in the past to remain meaningful. Because traditions aren’t something we inherit. They’re something we create together. Traditions are people.
